This is the perfect bed in my opinion and I recommend it to everyone who has back problems. I bought this 12 inch INTEX 6 years ago and put in on a platform bed. It's the best bed I ever slept on. I used it every night for six years before one of the innner compartments failed. I am rather heavy too. I couldn't find another in the stores here, so I bought a 9 inch COLEMAN at Walmart. Wasn't the same and I started getting a backache from the change of the mattress. I then found a 9 inch INTEX. That isn't as nice as the 12 inch, but much better than the COLEMAN. I now ordered the 12 inch INTEX and wish I had saved myself the money and aggrevation of trying something else. LOVE this bed and if I get 6 years out of this mattress for 40 some dollars, I am well ahead and well pleased.
