Combine the comforts of a bed with the convenience of a blow-up mattress with the Intex Classic Downy full-size inflatable airbed. The Classic Downy is equipped with a quality-tested, 20.8-gauge waterproof flocked top, along with 14-gauge vinyl beams and a 15-gauge bottom. The resulting surface is luxurious and durable, with a unique wave beam construction that eliminates uncomfortable surface bumps and provides a flat, uniform sleeping surface throughout the night. The flocked surface also helps keep bedding from slipping off the side while cleaning easily. In addition, the Classic Downy is remarkably easy to inflate thanks to the battery-operated pump, which can also be used for other inflatables. No more rummaging through your camping gear for your faulty 15-year-old pump.
Finally, the Classic Downy is raised 8.75 inches from the floor, insulating you from the cold ground surface far better than a camping mat. Read my notes..., By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Intex Classic Downy Full Airbed (Sports) I originally ordered this air bed for guests to use, but due to certain circumstances, I'm now forced to use it every night. After a couple nights of sleeping on it, I'd say it's quite comfortable; it's not as good as sleeping on a real $1,000 mattress, but it sure beats sleeping on the floor! The only thing is that you have to get used to sleeping along the vertical chambers of air that the bed uses to support your body when it is fully inflated. Once your back becomes used to it, the mattress is great. However, I do have a couple of notes. 1. When you first get the mattress, you will experience what feels like air loss, however, it is just the mattress stretching out with use. Even if you pump enough air into the the mattress to make it firm, it will become a bit softer by morning during the "break in stage." This is because the mattress is stretching out, and after a couple nights of this, you shouldn't lose any air. 2. If you lose a lot of air in a... I was able to sleep on my side, back or tummy, just like my regular bed and the mattress stayed firm. I used my vacuum cleaner to quickly blow it up at home when I was testing it out. To use a vacuum as a pump, just take off the hose and put it on the opposite end. For camping with out an air pump, you can use your portable vacuum cleaner with an attachment for your cigarette lighter. So, for me, a comfortable bed for 20 dollars is a very good value. Update, we used it for ten days straight, no problems. Never lost air, two of us slept well, we didn't roll or anything, perfect! 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful: A little tooo comfortable!, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Intex Classic Downy Full Airbed (Sports) My daughter has been sleeping on this in the guest room for 3 months, it must be nice and comfy because she's still here! :) Seriously, she hasn't had to reinflate it at all and says it's quite comfortable. I'm adding a mattress pad and that should make it almost as high-end as a Select Comfort! At the price it is now, you should get one! |
